"Riddle Guessing Box" is an interactive installation. Two white fluorescent lamps are mounted in a huge box. The shape of the box is like a machine in the lab. Two holes and the operation instruction are placed on the box. A variety of metal sheet and meat slice are put inside the box. The audience can put their hands inside the box through the two holes and mix these metal sheet and meat slice randomly. But since only their hands can go through these two holes, the combination result is invisible to this audience. At the same time, the back of the box is installed with a frosted glass in the face of others. Through the internal lights, other audiences can see the combination result of the audience through the glass. But because it is frosted glass, they can only see a shadow or an outline and the content is blurry. They may look like a precious stuff, a monster, or a robot which we may not be able to identify.

In this interactive installation, the audiences are like scientists who will constantly invent new things, sometimes beautiful and sometimes ugly and sometimes it may even be very scary. So this installation is trying to express our concern toward the future -- with the continuous development of science and technology, we are enabled to have a great vision of the future, but it also brings us many concerns and deliberations about the future.
